The United States Congress designated the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness in 1978 and it now has a total of 943,626 acres. Montana contains approximately 920,343 acres. Wyoming contains approximately 23,283 acres.

Deer Creek Campground
Deer Creek Campground is in an open setting with views of the Absaroka Mountain peaks. There are a total of 7 sites with a maximum spur of 16 feet.

Eagle Creek Campground
Eagle Creek Campground is set in a park-like setting with little underbrush. There are a total of 20 sites with a maximum spur of 22 feet.

Elk Fork Campground
Elk Fork Campground is in an open area with views of Absaroka Mountain peaks and volcanic cliffs on Shoshone River. There are a total of 13 sites with a maximum spur of 22 feet.

Jack Creek Campground
Jack Creek Campground is situated in a park-like grove of lodgepole pine. There are a total of 11 sites with a maximum spur of 22 feet.

Lower Paint Rock Campground
Lower Paint Rock Campground is set in a stand of pine adjacent to Lower Paintrock Lake. There are a total of 4 sites with a maximum spur of 60 feet.

Medicine Lodge Campground
Medicine Lodge Campground is overlooking Upper Medicine Lodge Lake and meadows located in a stand of pine. There are a total of 8 sites with a maximum spur of 55 feet.

Porcupine Campground
Porcupine Campground is located in lodgepole pine stand with views of Porcupine Creek. There are a total of 16 sites with a maximum spur of 60 feet.
