| Facilities: There are several campgrounds within the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, many of which are accessible from the Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Best Time To Visit: Flaming Gorge Reservoir is open year round. Ice fishing is a popular pastime in winter. Fluctuating water levels and warm weather may cause hazardous ice. Fees: There is a daily use fee to enter Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. Accessibility: Unknown Rules: Utah or Wyoming state fishing license required. Check with state fish and game agencies for current regulations. Boaters should note that reefs and rocks are not marked. Due to fluctuating lake levels it is recommended boaters use lake maps to familiarize themselves with locations of hazards.
