Longview, Washington is a great home base for exploring the big attractions in Washington State, such as Mt St. Helens to the east, and the Lewis and Clark historical sites to the west.

Several of Longview's most significant buildings are around the plaza in the center of town. When the city was founded in the 1920s, leaders insisted on a consistent architectural theme for the Monticello Hotel and Longview Public Library. The post office is a stunning example of art deco architecture. Built in 1925, in an Italian Renaissance style, chandeliers and intricate ornamentation and grillwork, what is now the Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts represents the elegance of a bygone era.
For an afternoon of swimming, boating, hiking, volleyball, or kite flying, be sure to check out Lake Sacajawea or Willow Grove Park. For the best overview of the area, head over the Lewis and Clark Bridge, built in the 1920s and airy at 195 feet high. On clear days, visitors can see Mount St. Helens looming in the east, and Mount Rainier in the distance.
Longview, Washington has a great mix of indoor and outdoor recreation, sure to make any vacation to Longview a huge family hit. Longview Washington offers a comfortable place to return after a day exploring Mt St. Helens, and also offers plenty to do in itself.
