Wenatchee, Washington, whose name means "River Flowing From Canyon," proudly proclaims itself the "Apple Capital of the World." Four distinct seasons, 300 days of sunshine a year, a river running through town and mountains at hand make the Wenatchee Valley a recreational paradise for all ages.

Outdoor enthusiasts can golf, boat, kayak, bird watch, hike, camp, hunt, fish, whitewater raft, or rock climb. A 10-mile paved loop trail along the shores of the Columbia River tempts road and mountain bikers. Just outside of Wenatchee, Washington waits Devil's Gulch, one of the state's premier mountain biking challenges. Families can tube down the Wenatchee River, watch an AppleSox baseball game, or see an auto race at the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval.
Riverfront Park has a small-gage, mini-steam train for the kids. Visitors can rent bicycles, splash in the Columbia River, or discover wildlife in the Horan Natural Area, a wetlands refuge. At Rocky Beach Dam, visitors can watch salmon migrate through the fish ladders. Wenatchee, Washington's historic downtown offers the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center. In the spring, enjoy an annual Apple Blossom Festival. Autumn brings the apple harvest with festivals, family fun, and apples, apples everywhere.
Wenatchee visitors won't be able to fit in everything on a first visit. But with excellent lodging and dining for all, Wenatchee invites everyone to return as soon as possible.
