Alta Lake State Park - Bird Watching
Recreation includes picnicking, camping, bird watching, hiking, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, fishing, scuba diving, boating, water skiing and swimming. Average summer temperatures are 94 degrees maximum and 50 degrees minimum. Because central Washington is landlocked and subject to winter winds, winter temperatures are much colder than those in western Washington.

Concoy Lake - Bird Watching
The dam was originally completed in 1910. Both the lake and reservoir are located in an area of steep-sided hills that have open forests of coniferous and deciduous trees. The reservoir area is especially popular with picnickers. Both water bodies total 760 water surface acres. They occupy 5,400 feet of freshwater shoreline in north central Washington. Anglers will find rainbow trout, cutthroat trout and smallmouth bass. There are two boat ramps and one boat dock for handling motorized and non-motorized boats.

Spectacle Lake - Bird Watching
The lake is a 396 acre storage reservoir in the Whitestone Coulee Unit of the Okanogan-Similkameen Division of the Chief Joseph Dam Project and located near Tonasket, Washington. This is a Reclamation irrigation project associated with Chief Joseph Dam but not a part of the dam. Fish species include rainbow trout. The lake is managed as a trout fishery and possession of other species is prohibited.
