Colville National Forest
The Colville National Forest is located in the northeast corner of Washington and covers 1.9 million acres. Over a million people relax and play in the Colville each year. In addition to camping and berry picking visitors can enjoy a variety of other recreation activities. The Colville's lakes and streams are filled with cutthroat, eastern brook and rainbow trout. There are several recreation sites and trailheads including a number of trails that are universally accessible.

North Skookum is a popular lake found in a setting of forested mountains about 20 miles north of Newport. Fishing is accessible for rainbow trout.
