| Stillaguamish River offers fishing for salmon fishing for coho and chum and for winter steelhead fish. The Stillaguamish River is not known as a great trout river, though the sea-run cutthroat trout have made a recovery and are present. The fame of this river is summer and winter runs of steelhead.Fish species: Cutthroat, Dolly Varden, salmon, steelhead.Angling methods: spin, fly-fishing.There are two main access points to the river:Haller Park boat launch, managed by Arlington Parks and Recreation Dept offers a solid concrete ramp and parking for 20 cards on gravel. There is room for trailer parking as well.The Haller Park boat ramp has a moderate grade and is located on a section of the river with a moderate current. The concrete at the lower end of the ramp is broken and undermined. A significant drop off exists at the end of the ramp. The boat ramp appears to be closed. A 'No Vehicles Beyond This Point' sign is posted at the beginning of the ramp. Haller Park consists of a lawn area, play equipment, picnic shelter, park benches, picnic tables, and flush restrooms.Strotz Road (WDFW) in Snohomish County is managed by the Department of Fish & Wildlife. There are two natural ramps and a gravel parking lot for cars and trailers.The boat access on the gravel bar is located on the inside bend in the river. A moderate river current exists at the gravel bar. The site is a large gravel bar that can be driven on. No overnight parking or camping is permitted at the access site. "Hazardous Waters" signs are posted at the access site. No designated disabled parking. No other amenities exist at the site beyond boat access and parking. Parking can be found along the sides of Strotz Road.To reach the access for Stillaguamish River at Strotz Road: Exit I-5 at Arlington Exit 208, go E on SR 530 .4 mi; L on 27th Ave, go .5 mil. At fork, keep R to Rd end. The site is on left. |
