South Skookum Lake is a popular lake found in a setting of forested mountains. This lake has a boat launch and a dock with access to the disabled on the west end. Visitors can fish, camp, hike, and canoe while visiting. Elevation is at 3500 feet.

Facilities: South Skookum Lake provides a boat launch, a dock, and nearby camping.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for South Skookum Lake.

Best Time To Visit: South Skookum Lake is open spring, summer, and fall.

Fees: No fees are charged.

Accessibility: This lake is handicap accessible.

Rules: Do not litter. A valid Washington state fishing license is needed to fish within the National Forest.

Directions: To reach South Skookum Lake from Spokane, start out going north on North Lincoln Street toward West Main Street for less than 0.1 miles. Turn right onto West Main Street for 0.6 miles. Turn left onto US-2 East and continue to follow for 46.9 miles. From Newport follow state Route 20 to Cusick. The lake is only 6.6 miles northeast from Cusick. It is also approximately 69 miles Northeast of Spokane off County Road 9325 and only 22 miles Northeast of Newport.
