Northwest Railway Museum

Northwest Railway Museum is moving forward with construction of the Conservation and Restoration Center (CRC). This facility is the first phase of the new Railway History Center and will be used to perform collection care on historic railway transportation artifacts including steam and diesel locomotives, passenger cars, freight cars and track maintenance vehicles. Track construction is expected to begin in summer 2005 and foundation work will begin in August 2005. Ground breaking will be taking place on August 6th. The Museum was founded in 1957 as the Puget Sound Railway Historical Association. In September 1999 the name was formally changed to The Northwest Railway Museum. It is the largest and most comprehensive railway museum in Washington State and was visited by over 71,000 people last year (2004).

Reservations: Reservations are not accepted for Northwest Railway Museum.

Best Time To Visit: Northwest Railway Museum is open 11am to 4pm.

Fees: An admission fee is charged.

Accessibility: This museum is not handicap accessible.

Rules: Children must be supervised at all times while on the museum.

Directions: To reach Northwest Railway Museum from Seattle, take Marion St toward 6th Ave. Follow it for 1 mile. Turn right onto 6th Ave. Follow it for 2 miles. Take the I-5 south toward Portland. Follow it for 4 miles. Merge onto I-90 E via the exit on the left toward Spokane. Follow it for 22.9 miles. Take the WA-18 W exit- EXIT 25- toward Snoqualmie Parkway. Follow it for 2 miles. Turn left onto WA-18. Follow it for 1 mile. WA-18 becomes southeast Snoqualmie Parkway. Follow it for 3.6 miles. Turn right onto railroad Ave. Follow it for 6 miles. Turn right onto southeast King St. Follow it for 1 mile. End at 38625 Se King St Snoqualmie, WA 98065-9663, US.
