North Skookum is a popular lake found in a setting of forested mountains about 20 miles north of Newport. This lake has a boat launch and a dock. Visitors can fish, camp, hike, swim, and canoe while visiting. Beavers, ducks osprey and great blue herons can be seen at the lake. Elevation is at 3500 feet.

Facilities: North Skookum Lake provides a boat launch, a dock, and nearby camping.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for North Skookum Lake.

Best Time To Visit: North Skookum Lake is open spring, summer, and fall.

Fees: No fees are charged.

Accessibility: This lake is not handicap accessible.

Rules: Do not litter. A valid Washington state fishing license is needed to fish within the National Forest.

Directions: To reach North Skookum Lake from Spokane, the lake is approximately 69 miles Northeast off County Road 9325 and only 22 miles Northeast of Newport.
