Ilwaco Heritage Museum's facility is in the former Telephone Utilities building. Originating with a one-room storefront display in 1983, our museum has grown to be one of the important cultural institutions of southwestern Washington State. The museum facility now encompasses four thematic galleries, the former depot of the Ilwaco Railroad and Navigation Company Ilwaco, several courtyard displays (including a IR&N narrow gauge Pullman Palace car dating back to 1890), a spacious art gallery, a research library, and the largest meeting room in southern Pacific County (including a modern certified kitchen). The museum's purpose is to preserve and interpret the heritage of the Columbia Pacific region, including the lower Columbia River and adjacent coastal areas of southwestern Washington and northwestern Oregon.
