Grayland Beach State Park is a 412-acre, year-round, marine camping park with 7,449 feet of spectacular ocean frontage, just south of the town of Grayland. The park attracts kite flyers, kite-flying observers and those who just like a pleasant day at the beach. The park was named for Captain Robert Gray, an American sea captain who discovered all the harbors now named for him. There is a quarter-mile interpretive trail to the beach from parking and camping areas. Other recreational activities include camping, fishing, clamming, horseback riding, and beachcombing. This area is a great place for visitors who like to bird watch. Birds found in this area are crows, ravens, ducks, gulls, hawks, jays, woodpeckers, and wrens. Whales can be seen in the distance as well. Picnic areas are not provided.
