Conconully Lake and Reservoir are features of the Okanogan Project. They are located on Salmon Creek. The dam was originally completed in 1910. Both the lake and reservoir are located in an area of steep-sided hills that have open forests of coniferous and deciduous trees. The reservoir area is especially popular with picnickers. Both water bodies total 760 water surface acres. They occupy 5,400 feet of freshwater shoreline in north central Washington. Anglers will find rainbow trout, cutthroat trout and smallmouth bass. There are two boat ramps and one boat dock for handling motorized and non-motorized boats.
Not only are water activities popular, but also many species of birds inhabit the lakeshore. This makes the area a keen place for guests who are involved in bird watching. Such birds found here include crows, ducks, eagles, geese, grouse, gulls, hawks, herons, hummingbirds, jays, ospreys, owls, and woodpeckers. Some of these birds are located in the forested area surrounding the lake. Hiking trails are available to make the search easier for visitors. All trails are fairly easy to access and low in difficulty. ATV trails are also available.
