Buckskin Ridge Trail #498

Buckskin Ridge Trail #498 is mostly a ridge trail that alternates between subalpine forest and above timberline zones. The trail elevation varies as it passes two lakes and crosses two passes before descending to the Pasayten River. The trail route is mostly above timberline and offers many views. For those seeking solitude the trail is generally not used much past Silver Lake. This trail should be considered more difficult for the stock user. While it is not impassable to stock, it is not a trail for the inexperienced horse or rider. There are sections of narrow tread with steep exposure and steep rocky stretches. This trail is 19.5 miles long.
