Bagley Lakes Trail #684.1

Bagley Lakes Trail #684 travels along the east shore of Bagley Lake. The trail joins Chain Lakes Trail and Wild Goose Trail along the way and can be traveled as a loop back to its start. Taking the routes signed at several junctions can lead hikers to either the Chain Lakes Trail or the Austin Pass Picnic Area by the Heather Meadows Visitor Center. Spectacular shows of summer wildflowers and autumn colors grace the landscape. This trail is 1.5 miles one-way and is considered to be easy. Elevations start at 4200 feet and have a gain of 100 feet.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for Bagley Lakes Trail #684.1.

Best Time To Visit: Bagley Lakes Trail #684.1 is open summer through fall.

Fees: No fees are charged, but a Northwest Forest Pass is required for each vehicle parked at the trailhead.

Accessibility: This trail is not handicap accessible.

Directions: To reach Bagley Lakes Trail #684.1 from Bellingham, start out going northeast on J Street toward Ellsworth Street for 0.1 miles. Turn left onto Girand Street for less than 0.1 miles. Turn right onto Broadway for 0.3 miles. Turn slight left onto Sunset Drive for 1.8 miles. Sunset Drive becomes WA-542 for 32.3 miles. Turn left onto Vaughn Avenue for less than 0.1 miles. From Glacier, travel east on Mt. Baker Highway 542 for 21.0 miles to Heather Meadows. The trailhead is located at the Mt. Baker Ski Area's winter parking lot.
