Kanab is less than 90 minutes from the Bryce, Zion, and Grand Canyon National Parks.
Kanab rests at the base of red rock cliffs. Depending on the time of day these huge sandstone walls emit shades, tints and hues of delicate rose to deep vermilion. Green trees and alfalfa fields provide powerful contrasting colors. In the evening, as the sun meets the horizon, the red rock reflects upward to the clouds creating flaming sunsets.
Kanab is called "Park Central" because it is only minutes away from three National Parks, three National Monuments, one National Recreation Area, and two state parks. Two National Forests and Bureau of Land Management wilderness areas also surround Kanab.
Pipe Springs, Cedar Breaks National Monument, Coral Pink Sand Dunes and Kodachrome Basin State Park are just minutes away. Glen Canyon National Recreation Area better know as Lake Powell is just a short 55 miles east of Kanab Utah.
Do you like geocaching? Kanab, Utah offers over 250 opportunities for geocaching. When you visit Kanab, be sure to bring your GPS and look for geocaches near Kanab.
