Snowbasin, a Sun Valley Resort is located in the glittering snowfields high above Ogden, Utah. Begun in 1940 as a "huge public playground" it has grown into hosting the 2002 Winter Olympic Downhill, Super G and combined events. Owned by the group that includes the Sun Valley resort in Idaho, and Little America Hotels, Snowbasin is one of the oldest, continuously operating ski areas in the United States.

Snowbasin's 2,959 vertical feet of ski trails, powder bowls and lush glades cover over 2,500 acres. The terrain here will suit everyone's needs. Wide runs ensure skiers have all the elbow room needed.
Nordic trails are also on-site for Nordic skiing and snowshoe enthusiasts. A Superpipe and two terrain parks are perfect for freestylists of all levels. The tubing hill has six lanes, each with a different terrain type and steepness, suitable for all members of the family.
The beauty and grandeur of the mountains above and valleys below Snowbasin have inspired many pictures. Snowbasin's man-made structures and attention to service are equally inspiring to visitors!

Facilities: Snowbasin, a Sun Valley Resort offers three lodges providing food, drinks, and restrooms; Earl's Lodge, Needles Lodge, and the John Paul Lodge.
Earl's Lodge, is a 45,000 square foot rock and log dining facility. Lusciously carpeted, the spacious dining area seating 250 at richly appointed oak tables. Six delightful wood-burning fireplaces are available to cozy up to, or enjoy the bracing mountain air outside in our heated patio seating area.
Needles Lodge, located at the top of the Needles gondola, offers dining views of the most spectacular scenery around. At 8,750 feet, with five fireplaces, Needles is quiet elegance, inside and out. With antique furniture, beautiful carpeting and tapestries, and luxurious dining tables, the indoor dining area seats 160. A heated, glassed-in patio seats an additional 100 guests. Comfortable, upholstered couches and armchairs are available downstairs for a moment of peaceful relaxation.
Warm up at the highest lodge on the mountain at 8,900 feet! The rock and log John Paul Lodge sits in the shadow of Mt. Ogden and offers incredible vistas of Mt. Allen and No Name Peak. Oak and Italian marble tables with cozy, upholstered chairs make up the seating at the lodge, and the upstairs dining area surrounds an open, four-sided fireplace.

Reservations: Snowbasin, a Sun Valley Resort does recommend reservations be made for private lessons and lodging.

Best Time To Visit: Snowbasin, a Sun Valley Resort is usually open from mid-November to mid-April depending on snow. Call ahead for snow conditions.

Fees: Use fees are charged. Additional fees may be incurred for lodging, rental and lessons.

Accessibility: Persons with limited mobility should contact Snowbasin for details.

Rules: Snowbasin recommends guests follow the 'skier's code' for safety. Obey all posted signs and warnings.

Directions: To reach Snowbasin, a Sun Valley Resort from Ogden, take I-15 southbound and exit onto the I-84 eastbound. Proceed east on I-84 and exit at Mountain Green. Continue east on Old Highway and turn left on SR 167 heading north. Turn left on SR 226 heading west and proceed approximately three miles to 3925 E. Snowbasin Rd.

From Tremonton, start out heading east on Main St. Turn right onto UT-13. Merge onto I-15 south using the ramp on the left toward Ogden. Follow the I-15 southbound and merge onto the I-84 eastbound. Proceed east on I-84 and exit at Mountain Green. Continue east on Old Highway and turn left on SR 167 heading north. Turn left on SR 226 heading west and proceed approximately three miles to 3925 E. Snowbasin Rd.
