Brighton Resort, which began with one rope tow in 1936, has become a top mountain resort offering a wide variety of terrain covered by an incredible amount of snow. Known for it's deep powder, Brighton Resort has over 64 runs on two mountains with some of the best corduroy in the state.

Brighton is located at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon, with beginner, intermediate, and advanced runs, Brighton provides a unique skiing or snowboarding experience for everyone in the family. Most lifts access all types of terrain making it easy for families to ride the lift together and still meet at the bottom. An open boundary policy makes it possible for more adventurous expert skiers and snowboarders, virtually unlimited access to some of the best back-country in Utah.


Facilities: Brighton Resort offers three slopeside restaurants for skiers to enjoy as well as a base lodge.

Best Time To Visit: Brighton Resort is usually open from early November to late April from 9am to 4pm.

Fees: Use fees are charged. Additional fees may be incurred for rental, lodging and lessons.

Accessibility: Persons with limited mobility should contact Brighton Resort for details.

Rules: Skiers and snowboarders are expected to follow the 'skier's code'. Obey all posted signs and warnings.

Directions: To reach Brighton Resort from Salt Lake City, take I-215 south (it will turn east) until you reach the 6200 south exit, then turn right where it will eventually turn into Wasatch Blvd. Turn left at Big Cottonwood Canyon and drive to 12601 E. Big Cottonwood Canyon.

From Heber City, take S. 100 E. to E. 100 S. and make a right. Follow this to Main St. and turn right. Continue on US-40 for about 16 miles. Then merge onto I-80 using exit 1 on the left toward Salt Lake. Drive about 19 miles to the I-215. Take exit 130 to merge onto I-215. Take I-215 until you reach the 6200 south exit, then turn right where it will eventually turn into Wasatch Blvd. Turn left at Big Cottonwood Canyon and drive to 12601 E. Big Cottonwood Canyon.
