Alta Ski Area is located in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest, in the Wasatch mountains just east of Salt Lake City. At the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, above Snowbird, Alta offers some of the finest terrain and snow conditions in North America. Not to mention lift ticket prices that make those of most other resorts in its class look like highway robbery. A ski only park, Alta Ski Area does not allow snowboarding.
