Navajo Loop Trail
Courtesy of EatStayPlay.com
Located within Bryce Canyon National Park, Navajo Loop Trail begins at Sunset Point and leads southeastward through a narrow canyon to a trail junction. The loop then rounds the ridge to the south and ascends through another narrow canyon to the plateau rim. There are trails that extend from the southern end of this loop to Queen's Garden, Peekaboo Loop and lower Bryce Canyon.
Begin this hike from Sunset Point in northern Bryce Canyon. Navajo Loop Trail descends 500 feet into Bryce Canyon via a narrow passage from the rim. Approximately less than a mile from the trailhead the canyon opens and the trail soon comes to a junction. Turn left here to reach Queen Garden. The middle trail continues to follow the wash into the lower portion of Bryce Canyon. The trail to the right follows Bryce Canyon up stream then enters a narrow canyon ascending to the rim. Turn eastward at this junction rounding the ridge to the right to return to Sunset Point. The trailhead is approximately three quarters of a mile from this junction.
