Mill A Basin Trail connects with the Desolation, Bowman Fork, and Butler Fork trails. As hikers climb in the basin there is a vista of Mineral Fork and Mill B South Fork across the canyon.


Facilities: There are no facilities provided at Mill A Basin Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Late spring, summer, and fall is the best time to hike Mill A Basin Trail.

Fees: There are no fees charged to hike this trail.

Accessibility: This area is not handicap accessible.

Rules: Bikes, horses, and motorized vehicles are prohibited.

Directions: To reach Mill A Basin Trail from Salt Lake City, take Big Cottonwood Canyon Road (7000 South Wasatch Blvd) about 8.2 miles up the canyon to Butler Fork Trailhead (north side of the road, left). Take Butler Fork Trail about 1/2 mile to junction with Mill A Basin Trail and turn west (left).
