Little Cottonwood Canyon Trail shares a trailhead with the Temple Quarry Nature Trail. The parking lot is located to the right of the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon and behind the large electric sign. The trailhead is at the far end of the parking lot. The Little Cottonwood Canyon Trail follows an old hydroelectric pipeline as well as old mining roads. The trail intersects a paved road and a couple of gates. Go around the gates. Don't go down the paved road or you may be trespassing on private property.
This moderately difficult 3.5 mile trail gains 1,360 feet in elevation and receives frequent use. It takes about 2 hours to complete the trail one way.
