Gad Valley Trail is within Snowbird Ski Resort. The trail begins at the base of the Gad 1 or the Mid-Gad lifts. There is a portion of the log worm fence that was placed there many years ago by the cattlemen to help keep their livestock in the upper bowls of the drainage. The massive American Fork Twin Peaks at the head of the valley backdrop this glaciated cirque. The Twins rise to a height of 11,489 feet, the highest peaks in the Wasatch Range east of Salt Lake City. Three small lakes are located in the valley and several springs emerge from the boulder fields at the foot of the Twins. There are several extension hikes that can be taken out of Gad Valley.
This moderately difficult 3.7 mile trail gains 2,832 feet in elevation and receives frequent use. It takes about 3 hours to complete the trail one way.
