Days Fork Trail follows an old mining road from the Spruces Campground and ends at the Eclipse Mine in the upper bowl of the drainage. There are several avalanche paths along the entire length of the trail. This moderately difficult 3.5 mile trail gains 2,000 feet in elevation and receives moderate use. It takes about 3 hours to complete the trail one way.


Facilities: Days Fork Trail starts from Spruces Campground.

Best Time To Visit: Summer and fall is the best time to visit Days Fork Trail.

Fees: Parking within Spruces Campground is subject to a day use fee.

Accessibility: This area is not handicap accessible.

Rules: Several mines are visible along the Days Fork Trail. The State of Utah recommends that hikers do not enter these mines and use caution around the debris for your safety. Bikes, horses, and motorized vehicles are prohibited.

Directions: To reach Days Fork Trail from Salt Lake City, take Big Cottonwood Canyon Road (7000 South Wasatch Blvd) about 9.7 miles up the canyon to Spruces Campground. The trail begins from the west loop of the campground on the south side of the road.
