| The Brigham Young University Museum of Art opened in October, 1993. The 100,000-square-foot structure houses the university's art collection of over 16,000 objects. The Museum gives the campus and community the opportunity for enriching, firsthand experiences with world-class art.The BYU Museum of Art collection includes landscapes, portraits, still lifes, historical paintings, and is particularly strong in Hudson River School and American Impressionist works. The works are arranged in roughly chronological order, thus giving the visitor a historical review of American painting. |
