Easiest access to Box Canyon - West Canyon Trail is from West Canyon road out of Grantsville. A two wheel drive vehicle is sufficient for most of the road, but visitors may need a 4 wheel drive to get to the end of the road where the trail begins. This trail has been maintained as a primitive trail. There is not a trailhead sign and the trail may be difficult to locate. Access from the west side of the Stansbury's via Skull Valley Road is possible by two wheel drive except when the road becomes washed out. The trail begins at the end of the road in Box Canyon.
This easy 2.5 mile trail gains 1,580 feet in elevations and receives infrequent use. It takes about 3 hours to complete the trail one way.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for Box Canyon - West Canyon Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Late spring, summer, and fall is the best time to visit Box Canyon - West Canyon Trail.

Directions: To reach Box Canyon - West Canyon Trail from Salt Lake City, head west on I-80 and exit at Timpie. Follow Skull Valley Road south to Delle Ranch turn-off. Turn east (left) and go about 3 1/2 miles to the trailhead. There is no trailhead sign.
