Bowman Fork Trail

Bowman Fork Trail follows the Bowman Fork stream for 3/4 mile then switch backs along the hillside. The trail junctions with the Alexander Basin Trail or continues past the Baker Spring area to meet the Desolation Trail in Big Cottonwood Canyon. This moderate 4 mile trail takes about 3 1/2 hours to hike one way. It gains 3,080 feet in elevations and receives moderate use.

Facilities: There are no facilities provided at Bowman Fork Trail.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for Bowman Fork Trail.

Best Time To Visit: The recommended season to hike Bowman Fork Trail is late spring, summer and fall.

Fees: There is a fee charged to enter Mill Creek Canyon.

Accessibility: This trail is not handicap accessible.

Rules: Bikes and motorized vehicles are prohibited.

Directions: To reach Bowman Fork Trail from Salt Lake City, take Mill Creek Canyon Road (3800 South Wasatch Boulevard) about 4.5 miles up the canyon at Terraces Picnic area. Follow the road up the hill and at the junction turn south (right). Trail begins above the turn around.
