Beartrap Fork Trail

Beartrap Fork Trail starts on the Big Cottonwood Canyon Road and follows a private access road into the canyon until it ends into the trail. The trail has been maintained as a primitive route and can be difficult to follow especially as it meanders toward the ridge line at the end where it intersects the Great Western Trail.
This moderately difficult 2.75 mile trail gains 2,240 feet in elevation and receives low to moderate use. It takes about 2 hours to complete the trail one way.

Facilities: There are no facilities provided at Beartrap Fork Trail.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for Beartrap Fork Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Late spring, summer and fall is the best time to visit Beartrap Fork Trail.

Fees: No fees are charged to visit this trail.

Accessibility: This area is not handicap accessible.

Rules: Horses and motorized vehicles are prohibited.

Directions: Beartrap Fork Trail begins about 10 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon (7000 South Wasatch Boulevard) on private land. The trail is not marked.
