Guadalupe River State Park is located along the boundary of Comal and Kendall Counties. It was acquired by deed from private owners in 1974 and was opened to the public in 1983. The park is bisected by the clear-flowing waters of the Guadalupe River. The park is comprised of a 1938.7-acre segment of the Texas Hill Country noted for its ruggedness and scenic beauty.
There is a campground with 100 campsites 89 of which can accommodate RVs and trailers, however there is a maximum length limit of 50 feet. There is a per night fee and a entry fee for the main park but no reservations are required.
There is a beautiful day use picnic area that does not charge a fee and does not require reservations. It is located within the park.
There are lots of fishing opportunities in the area but be sure to have a proper and valid Texas fishing license before casting in your line.
Swimming is also allowed and is a great way to cool off on a hot day or the perfect thing to keep the kids busy while you relax in the sun.
