Blanco State Park Campground is along the Blanco River, in Blanco County. The land was deeded by private owners in 1933 before the park was opened in 1934.
The area was used as a campsite by early explorers and settlers. A spring in the park made the location ideal when the river was dry. Original developments were made by the Civilian Conservation Corps (C.C.C.)
There are 36 campsites all of which can accommodate RVs and trailers, however there is a maximum length limit of 50 feet. There is a per night fee and a fee to enter the main park but no reservations are required and there is no stay limit so come and stay for as long as you want.
There is a beautiful day use picnic area that does charge a fee for the group area but there is no fee for the regular picnic areas and no reservations are required for either. They are located within the Blanco State Park.
There are lots of nearby fishing opportunities nearby but be sure to have a proper and valid Texas fishing license before casting in your line.
Swimming is also allowed and is a great way to cool off on a hot day or the perfect thing to keep the kids busy while you relax in the sun.
