| To the east, seven different wildlife refuges can be found in Klamath Basin, home to the largest wintering concentration of bald eagles in the lower 48 states. The centerpiece of the region, Crater Lake National Park, celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2002. Must see attractions include the Rogue Umpqua National Scenic Byway which takes visitors from Roseburg and the Land of Umpqua through the splendid Upper Rogue Region to Gold Hill near Medford. The Oregon Outback National Scenic Byway from Lakeview offers the high desert of Eastern Oregon. The national byways of Southern Oregon offer scenery and adventure unmatched on Earth. |
