Tillamook, Oregon is a tiny town of 4,400 residents. The Tillamook, Trask, Wilson, and Kilchis Rivers all pass through or near the town of Tillamook, part of a network of more than 20 rivers and streams that feed into Tillamook Bay, and out to the Pacific Ocean.

Situated only six miles from the coast, Tillamook features coastal living at its best. Tillamook features the Tillamook Cheese Factory, manufacturer of world famous cheeses and ice cream, as well as the nearby Blue Heron cheese factory, offering gourmet food tasting, cheeses, wines, and other gifts in a converted Dutch barn.
Tillamook also features the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum, Latimer Quilt and Textile Center, and the Tillamook Air Museum. A short distance away from the town is Cape Meares State Park, with scenic views of Tillamook Bay and the Pacific Ocean, as well as lots of hiking.
Tillamook also has its very own lighthouse, merely 38 feet tall. Constructed in 1889, and lit for the first time in 1890, The Cape Meares lighthouse is the shortest lighthouse in Oregon, though it sits more than 200 feet above the sea. When lit, its beacon was visible for more than 23 miles on a clear night. Today the beacon has been replaced by a modern one that sits just behind the original.
Tillamook is located 74 miles from Portland and Salem, and 66 miles from the mouth of the Columbia River, right in the heart of some of the most wild and scenic areas on the Oregon coast.
