Arcadia Beach State Recreation Site - Surfing
This recreation area is near a shady spot, just off of the highway and a few feet from the sandy ocean beach. Visitors are able to take a lunch break on their way north or south on Highway 101. People kick off their shoes and leave the car to feel the sand between their toes and the waves lapping at their ankles. Facilities are provided.

Del Rey Beach State Recreation Site - Wind Surfing
This area is just a short walk away from Del Rey's quiet, secluded parking area. The ocean is near by as well. Visitors are able to walk a short distance and surf the gentle waves of Del Rey Beach State Recreation Site. If ever there was a place to play, fly a kite, build a sandcastle or picnic, this is it. Some of the water activities that visitors like to participate in are boating, sailing, snorkeling, surfing, swimming, water skiing, and wind surfing.

Fort Stevens State Park - Swimming
This was the primary military defense installation in the three fort Harbor Defense System at the mouth of the Columbia River. Fort Stevens has grown into a 3,700 acre park offering exploration of history, nature, and recreational opportunities. Camping, beachcombing, freshwater lake swimming, trails, wildlife viewing, an historic shipwreck and an historic military area make Fort Stevens a uniquely diversified park. Two other smaller lakes offer boat ramps for fishing and canoeing.

Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail - Boating
In 1803 President Thomas Jefferson commissioned Meriwether Lewis and William Clark to explore the newly acquired Louisiana Purchase. The voyage of was made up of 45 men, a keelboat, two pirogues, and a dog. At 3,700 miles in length, Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail is the second longest of the 23 National Scenic & National Historic Trails in the United States and it crosses 11 states.

Oswald West State Park - Wind Surfing
Just a quarter mile from any of the parking areas to the beach, yet the rigors of everyday life are stripped away by the time guests feet hit the sand. Although the walk is short, there are several different trails to the beach and lead visitors to the Cape Falcon overlook or to the Pacific Coast Trail. Popular with windsurfers and boogie boarders, the beach is always alive with activity.
