| | Del Rey Beach State Recreation Site | | This area is just a short walk away from Del Rey's quiet, secluded parking area. The ocean is near by as well. Visitors are able to walk a short distance and surf the gentle waves of Del Rey Beach State Recreation Site. If ever there was a place to play, fly a kite, build a sandcastle or picnic, this is it. Some of the water activities that visitors like to participate in are boating, sailing, snorkeling, surfing, swimming, water skiing, and wind surfing. |

| | Hug Point Recreation Site | | This site gives visitors easy access to the beach and a peek at some interesting history. The wayside was named after this trail because it hugs the point. Looking further north, Haystack Rock-one of the most identifiable landmarks along the coastline-is easily visible. Gray whales and other marine life can be spotted. Fishing and picnicking opportunities are provided as well. |
