Day Use Areas

Bandon State Natural Area
This area awaits the beachcomber, the explorer, the artist and the dreamer. Located along Bandon's Beach Loop Road, there are several locations with beach access, picnicking and unsurpassed views. Fishing on the shores of the Pacific Ocean is popular as well. Some facilities are provided.

Golden and Silver Falls State Natural Area
is a hidden gem in the dense coastal forests of southwest Oregon. The two falls are barely a quarter mile apart, connected by short, easy trails. Three connected trails give hikers several ways to view these falls. All begin at the picnic area near the confluence of Glenn and Silver creeks. Wildlife viewing and fishing are big attractions to these falls as well.

Hoffman Memorial State Wayside
is a shaded glen canopied with spectacular myrtle wood trees. Interpretive signing accompanies a self-guided tour brochure designed to help visitors experience this cool respite from the highway. Recreational opportunities such as fishing, picnicking and wildlife viewing are available.

Sutton Picnic Area
Sutton Picnic Area is a large group picnic area that provides visitors with a quiet forest experience.

Tokatee Klootchman State Natural Site
This site sits a few feet above the ocean with an excellent view. This area is also a great place to watch for whales. The grey whale migration in specific months is amazing from this area. It is situated above the ocean, and the visitor can get an amazing view of the whales and their calves here.
