| | Agate Beach State Recreation Area | | This beach is also known as a surfers paradise, if visitors plan to visit prime Newport attractions like the Oregon Coast Aquarium and Hatfield Marine Science Center, they must stop in for a refreshing picnic at Agate Beach. A tunnel leads to the ocean beach and day-use area. Facilities are provided. |

| | Gleneden Beach State Recreation Site | | This area is known for the many sea lions that visitors spot. The seals tend to sun bathe at the tip of the four mile Salishan Spit. Do not disturb the animals. Fishing and whale watching are permitted on the coast line. However, visitors who go out on boats are advised to use extreme caution and good judgment. |

| | Ona Beach State Park | | This beach is located 8 miles south of Newport, Oregon. The park is a fine, forested ocean flat that has now been developed for extensive daytime shore use. Ona beach provides easy access for beachcombing and great for large picnic gatherings. |

| | Seal Rock State Recreation Site | | has large off-shore rock formations which are the habitat of seals, sea lions, sea birds and other marine life. The wayside includes interesting tide pools as well as excellent ocean views and a sandy beach. There are many diverse wildlife communities because of the mix of substrate types and wave exposure regimes. The main use of this area comes from the general public for recreational sightseeing, beachcombing, tide-pooling, bird-watching, clamming, and rock fishing. One of the best sites on the open coast for littleneck clams. School field trips are occasionally organized around this area as well. |

| | South Beach State Park | | This park and the surrounding areas offer a variety of recreational opportunities. One of the most exciting additions to the program at South Beach: kayak tours. Folks who register for the activity will launch from nearby Ona Beach. It is located only 5 miles south of the park. Visitors will spend two hours exploring the fascinating Beaver Creek area with a guide. Other activities around the park include fishing, crabbing, boating, windsurfing and beachcombing. |
