Emigrant Springs State Heritage Area - Equestrian Developed
This area provides many recreational activities for the visitor. Camping is available, but if camping doesn't suit a guest there are rustic cabins available for rent as well. Different trails let visitors explore the area whether it is on horseback or by foot. The area can be used as a base camp to see surrounding area attractions such as museums, trails, and other parks. Facilities are provided.

Summit Guard Station is heavily forested along a ridge. Hiking nearby provides open scenic views as far south as the Elkhorn Mountains.

Tamarack Lookout Cabin sits atop Tamarack Mountain overlooking the John Day River Basin. Tamarack Mountain is located at an elevation of 4,979 feet and overlooks the John Day River basin, between Spray and Kimberly.

Winding through a stately ponderosa pine, Douglas fir and western larch forest the corridor provides a pleasant scenic drive and access to a popular fishing spot. The surrounding national forest provides an abundance of mushrooms and berries. Quiet, relaxing and far from the high-speed demands of metropolitan life, Ukiah-Dale can provide visitors with a wonderfully relaxed feeling.
