Detroit Lake State Recreation Area
is located in the Cascade Mountains. The 400-foot-deep lake was created in 1953 when the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers completed the Detroit Dam project. The lake has over 32 miles of shore line and is the spot for all types of water sports. A campground is available as well.

North Santiam State Recreation Area
This area plays host to some of the most beautiful riverfront in the area. It is one of the finest steelhead fishing spots on the North Santiam River. North Santiam State Recreation Area is an undisturbed day-use area with drinking fountain and restroom facilities.
