Camping In National Forests Siuslaw National Forest The Siuslaw National Forest is a very diverse and productive region extending from Tillamook to Coos Bay along the Oregon coast. The forest encompasses over 630,000 acres of unique and varying ecosystems. The Siuslaw National Forest is bordered on the east by the Willamette Valley and the west by the Pacific Ocean and is one of only two national forests located in the lower 48 states to claim oceanfront property, making it a great spot to go whale watching. Willamette National Forest The Willamette National Forest offers visitors virtually endless opportunities for forest-related activities. Developed campgrounds, trails, Scenic Byways, and ski resorts are but a few of the facilities available for use. Outdoor recreation activities not associated with developed facilities are limited only by one's imagination. Mary's Peak Campground The campground is located near Noble fir, Shasta fir, Douglas fir, cedar and alpine meadows with views of the mountains. The maximum spur is 18 feet long. There are 6 single sites available at the campground. Trout Creek Campground This campground is located in a wooded area and has 24 sites.
