Waldo Lake Trail #3590

Waldo Lake Trail #3590 around Waldo Lake consists mostly of easy grades through rolling country. The only exception is the area south of Green Lake where several short, fairly steep pitches exist. The numerous primitive campsites around the lake are often best accessed by boat. Much of the trail is out of view of the lake, but worth the wait. A short spur trail at Klovdahl Bay leads to an interpretive sign telling about the tunnel through the mountain. Portions of the west and south side of the trail offer views of Mt. Bachelor, Broken Top, and the Middle and South Sister. A shelter at the south end of the lake offers a good resting spot. This trail is 19.6 miles long, has a difficult rating, and receives moderate to heavy use.
