Tolovana Beach State Recreation Site is a great place to be after a long day of shopping in Cannon Beach's boutiques. Tolovana Wayside. It is known as the heart of the city and is just a few steps down from the parking lot. Visitors are on the beach with a spectacular view of Haystack Rock. A short walk down this lovely beach and guests will be at the rock's base. An amazing natural formation, many visitors feel the need for a closer look (but please don't climb!). Enjoy the beauty of the formation, tidepools around the base and abundance of wildlife -- the area is a wildlife refuge.
