The Trail of the Whispering Pines is in the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. From Lava Lands Visitor Center the trail stays along the edge of the lava flow as it winds through the shady whispering pines. Interprets past logging practices, modern-day management and vegetation. Paved trail. This trail is a 0.3 mile loop with an elevation of 4500 feet and is considered to be easy.


Facilities: There are no facilities provided at The Trail of the Whispering Pines.

Best Time To Visit: The Trail of the Whispering Pines is open summer and fall.

Fees: A parking fee is charged.

Accessibility: This trail is handicap accessible.

Rules: Do not litter. Hiking only, horses and mountain biking not allowed.

Directions: To reach The Trail of the Whispering Pines from Bend, travel about 10 miles south on highway 97.
