Tamarack Mountain is located at an elevation of 4,979 feet and overlooks the John Day River basin, between Spray and Kimberly. This 1 room cabin has cook stove, refrigerator, utensils, heating stove. All appliances and lighting are propane. Tamarack Lookout Cabin was the housing for Forest Service personnel using the lookout for fire detection.
