Swampy Lakes Loop is a "classic" introduction to single track mountain biking. There are few obstacles a beginner cannot at least attempt and is short enough that even if you are not in the best of shape, you can complete the trip. For the least technically challenging ride go straight at the first junction (milepost 0.1), ride on the Swampy Lakes Trail to the lake and return the way you came. The trail is 2.5 miles with elevations of 5500 to 6000 feet and is considered an easy trail.
