Sunset Campground is located in a old-growth forest with views of the lake and Cascade Mountains. It usually rains in the afternoons. Visitors need to bring protection from mosquitoes in the early summer. Trout fishing is available on the lake or shore. Supplies are available 1 mile away at the store in Odessa. Visitors might see deer and small wildlife in the area. Visitors may gather or purchase their firewood locally. Brown Mountain and Mountain Lakes Wilderness trails are located near the campground. Hiking is available on the trails. The campground is for tent camping only. There are 67 single sites available.
