Squaw Lakes Campground is a walk-in, tent only campground in a fir and hardwoods forest setting. Boat, swim or fish in the lake. Campers may gather firewood and supplies locally. Deer, osprey, bald eagles, bears and wildcats can be seen in the area. Reservation only. There are a total of 17 sites.


Facilities: Squaw Lakes Campground provides water, restrooms, picnic tables, and fire rings.

Best Time To Visit: Squaw Lakes Campground is open May through September.

Fees: A camping fee is charged.

Accessibility: This campground is handicap accessible.

Rules: The maximum stay is 14 days.

Directions: To reach Squaw Lakes Campground from Medford, start out going southwest on West 6th Street toward North Fir Street for 0.3 miles. Turn slight right onto Jacksonville Highway for 0.4 miles. Stay straight to go onto Jacksonville Highway for 4.2 miles. Travel south from Jacksonville 6.5 miles on Highway 238 to Ruch and turn left on to Upper Applegate Road (County Road 859). Continue south approximately 14 miles to Applegate Lake and turn left on Forest Road 1075 and continue 8.5 miles to the parking area.
