Rooster Rock Trail #3399 climbs slowly for 0.9 miles, then rises steeply to Rooster Rock. Rooster Rock is an enormous pillar of andesite and basalt, popular with rock climbers. If you are an adventurous climber, the wooden remains of a forest service lookout, abandoned in 1963, can be found by scrambling to the top. This trail is 2.1 miles long, rated moderate to difficult, and receives medium use.

Directions: To reach Rooster Rock Trail #3399 from Corvallis, travel east on State Highway 34 to U.S. Highway 20. Travel east on U.S. Highway 20 to Sweet Home. From Sweet Home, travel east on U.S. Highway 20 for 22.3 miles and park in the area next to the state highway cinder stockpile. The trailhead is located 50 yards back down the highway, across from Fernview Campground.
