Panther Segment starts at the Steamboat Work Center and follows the river to the site of the old fish hatchery. The trail then climbs above rocky cliff away from the river until it drops down to Road #4714. The trail is recommended for family use. It provides some access to the North Umpqua River for fishing (fly angling only). Watch out for poison oak. This trail is 5 miles long, has a more difficult rating, and receives moderate to heavy use.

Facilities: Panther Segment has restrooms at a trailhead. Gas, food, and lodging are available in Glide.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for Panther Segment.

Best Time To Visit: Panther Segment is open year-round.

Fees: No fee is charged.

Accessibility: This trail is not handicap accessible.

Rules: Unknown

Directions: To reach Panther Segment from Roseburg, travel east on State Highway 138 to Glide. From Glide, take State Highway 138 east 23 miles, cross the Mott Bridge to the Fisherman's Parking Lot.
