| Odell Creek Campground is located in large trees with screening undergrowth. Lake and mountain views are exceptional from this campground. The area can be windy due to Odell Lake frontage (good fishing). Supplies are available 3 miles away at Crescent. Bald eagles can be seen at this campground. It is busy during holidays. Guests may gather firewood locally. Horse and hiking trails lead to Diamond Peak Wilderness. An interpretive hike is available on site. Odell Creek Campground is adjacent to Odell Lake Lodge and Resort. Food, water, gas and oil, boat rentals, cabins as well as camping and fishing supplies are available at the resort. Vegetation at Odell Lake is dominated by large Douglas fir, white fir, spruce, and hemlock typical of vegetation on the west side of the Cascades. This vegetation is present because the climate is more like that on the west side. Due to its orientation and location adjacent to Willamette Pass, winds can be quite brisk on Odell Lake and whitecaps occasionally form. The wind makes the lake a prime candidate for sailing and windsurfing in addition to its main attraction as a great lake to fish. The campground provides 21 campsites and has a maximum spur of 30 feet. All of the campsites are developed. |
