Oceanside Beach State Recreation Site is located in the center of the community of Oceanside, this park offers some of the best agate hunting during the winter season when the sand is stripped away by ocean currents. During the summer season, the park is a popular place to beach comb, explore tide pools and surf. The sky above the park is occasionally filled with colorful hang gliders, paragliders and kites. Picnicking is available throughout the shoreline of this area. There is one group shelter that is available by reservation only. Wildlife watching can be popular in this part of Oregon. Different birds that migrate here or birds that make their permanent home here are seen. Marine wildlife can be spotted from the shore. Such marine life would be the gray whales during migration, sea lions, and much more. Fishing on the shore tends to be quite rewarding for the fisherman of Oregon. Water activities such as windsurfing, surfing, water skiing, jet skiing, and wake boarding are not uncommon. An abundant amount of surf competitions are held here.
